*BEEP*Jim, it's Angel — okay, don't be mad, but the Firebird might be in the Arkansas River. The shallow part! Mostly.

The Office · Arkansas River Bank, Tulsa
No Malibu. No Ocean. Still Home.
The original parked his trailer on a Malibu beach lot. Jim McSkunk Rockford parks his on the grassy bank of the Arkansas River, oil derricks on the skyline, Route 66 humming a mile off. Same rusted charm, same rotary answering machine, same policy: the door's unlocked because there's nothing in here worth stealing — except the case files.
Tulsa raised him. Grand Lake taught him to read water, Southern Hills taught him how the other half tips, and the county lockup taught him the only lesson that matters: the wrongly convicted don't need pity — they need paperwork.
Never let him forget
The Power of The Rockford Files
Six seasons, 1974–1980, and it never once needed the hero to be bulletproof. It needed him to be right. These are the house rules Jim carries — engraved deeper than the Firebird's VIN.
He Did the Time — For Nothing
Rockford served years in San Quentin for a robbery he didn't commit before the pardon came through. Jim McSkunk Rockford carries the same scar — it's why every case at this firm starts with the presumption of innocence and ends with post-conviction relief when the system got it wrong.
Wits Over Muscle
The gun stays in the cookie jar. The real weapons are a phony business card, a dime for the payphone, and knowing the rules better than the people breaking them. Paperwork beats a punch — every single episode taught it.
The Little Guy Pays the Freight
The clients were waitresses, truckers, ex-cons, widows — people the system had already chewed up once. That's the docket here too. Two hundred a day plus expenses, and half the time he never collected. Sound familiar? Counsel is free — forever.
The J-Turn
When the bad guys box you in, you throw it in reverse, spin the wheel, and drive out of the trap — the Rockford Turn. In court we call it a motion to dismiss. Same energy. Gold Firebird optional.

Subject: A Certain Red Stone
He won't say what it is. He won't say where it went. All Jim will tell you is that it left McSkunk Island on a fast boat, somebody in a courtroom knows more than they testified to, and every trail in this town keeps bending back toward the same red glint. Series One is watching it. That's all anybody gets — for now.
Volume Two under seal. We'll talk on the phone.
