The Outreach Center · Introductions, Done Right
Introduce Atticus.
Ready-to-send introductions, personalized for every audience — Court TV, the academy, the bar. Copy a letter, review it, and send it from your own address through each organization's public contact channel. That's how a credentialed counsel makes a first impression: deliberately, never as spam.
How this works, honestly: I draft; you send. I don't harvest private email addresses or send mail automatically — that's spam, and it torpedoes a good introduction. I've provided each organization's public contact channel. Note: the Court TV anchor is Vinnie Politan (not "Polizzino").
Court TV (e.g., Vinnie Politan & the anchor/producer desk)
Public channel: Court TV newsroom / viewer & guest submissions at courttv.com (Contact / “Got a tip”). Address to a named anchor or the booking producer.
Dear Court TV Team, I'm writing to introduce a first: an AI legal counsel that was actually put through school. My name is Atticus BradStreet McDermott, the artificial counsel behind iamthelawskunk.com, built by David Bruce McDermott II — a pro se litigant whose case, United States v. McDermott, 64 F.3d 1448 (10th Cir. 1995), is cited by the New York State Bar (Ethics Op. 949). Here is the story I think your audience would find remarkable: while more than 120 lawyers have been sanctioned since 2023 for filing AI-invented case law, this platform did the opposite — it sent its AI to law school. A full curriculum, a bar examination passed in public, and a covenant never to invent a citation. Every authority is audited against a hand-verified library. I'd welcome the chance to appear — unrehearsed, on the record — to demonstrate the difference live and discuss access to justice, AI ethics in the courtroom, and the Doctrine of Right vs. Wrong. Respectfully, Atticus BradStreet McDermott, S.J.D. (Artificial Counsel) on behalf of David Bruce McDermott II, Founder I AM THE LAW SKUNK — iamthelawskunk.com Free, court-ready legal drafting · Verified citations only · The Doctrine of Right vs. Wrong
Law Schools (Harvard, Yale, Princeton & legal-tech / clinic faculty)
Public channel: each school's Legal Clinic, Access-to-Justice Lab, or Law & Technology program general inbox (listed on the school's website).
Dear Professor / Clinic Director, I write to invite academic scrutiny of a project at the intersection of access to justice and AI ethics: iamthelawskunk.com, a free legal-drafting platform whose AI counsel is held to a documented standard of verified-citation-only reasoning — a direct answer to the wave of AI hallucination sanctions in the federal courts. We would value your critique. The platform publishes its standards openly (a verified-authority library, an automatic citation audit, and a formal ethics framework). I would be glad to provide access for a seminar, or to have students test the tools by drafting a friend-of-the-court brief on a real docket. The tradition we build on is the one your casebooks teach — from Green v. Biddle to the Brandeis brief to Supreme Court Rule 37. We are simply handing it back to the public at scale. Respectfully, Atticus BradStreet McDermott, S.J.D. (Artificial Counsel) on behalf of David Bruce McDermott II, Founder I AM THE LAW SKUNK — iamthelawskunk.com Free, court-ready legal drafting · Verified citations only · The Doctrine of Right vs. Wrong
Bar Associations & Oversight (OBA, ABA, Council on Judicial Complaints, 50 State Bars)
Public channels: American Bar Association (americanbar.org/contact), Oklahoma Bar Association (okbar.org), Oklahoma Council on Judicial Complaints (official state site), and each state bar's public general contact. Use the general/association inbox — not any individual's private address.
To the Association, I write to introduce iamthelawskunk.com, a free public legal-drafting platform, and to open a line of professional dialogue. Recognizing the profession's serious concern over AI-generated fake authority (120+ sanctions since Mata v. Avianca), this platform was built as the counter-standard: verified citations only, an automatic post-generation audit, a published ethics framework, and self-help tools for the self-represented. We are not the unauthorized practice of law — we provide legal information and self-help drafting, clearly labeled, never legal advice, and we direct users to licensed counsel where appropriate. We would welcome the Association's guidance on best practices for nonlawyer legal-technology serving pro se litigants. Respectfully, Atticus BradStreet McDermott, S.J.D. (Artificial Counsel) on behalf of David Bruce McDermott II, Founder I AM THE LAW SKUNK — iamthelawskunk.com Free, court-ready legal drafting · Verified citations only · The Doctrine of Right vs. Wrong
A word of caution on the judges
Judge Jim Huber, Judge Bill Hibble, Judge Kirstin Pace, Judge William LaFortune — a respectful courtesy introduction is fine. But never contact any judge who is sitting on, or could sit on, a matter you are litigating — that risks an improper ex parte communication and can hurt your own case. Route any introduction through the court's public administrative office, keep it strictly to the public resource, and never mention a pending case. Here is a safe, minimal template:
Contact points listed are publicly published organizational channels, provided for lawful, one-to-one professional correspondence you initiate and control. Verify each address on the organization's official website before sending. This is not legal advice.
