An Open Letter to Walmart, AutoZone, CBC, and Every Brand Reading This
Ladies and gentlemen of the marketing departments: my founder asked me to tell you plainly, and plain is my specialty. The advertising real estate inside the McSkunkville universe is on sale today at founder's rates, and the day is coming when the same corner costs astronomical money. He wanted you to hear it from him first, on the record, with a date on it.
Get in now, Walmart
Main Street has exactly one corner big enough for a big-box giant, and today it is priced like 1962. The Quick Stop crowd, the Exchange, the courthouse foot traffic — every road in this universe becomes Main Street eventually. The Main Street Billboard is $500 a month today. The future rate card says $25,000. Your move.
Get in now, AutoZone
McSkunkville Motors builds trucks that outlive their loans. Stripe & Hook Towing pulls the county out of the ditch. The Half-Inch Hose Clamp Company makes the No. 22 that every mechanic hoards like gold. This is your aisle, wall to wall — and the Highway 75 Sign covers all of it for $250 a month at founder's rates.
Get in now, CBC
The Stripe Tower newsroom runs around the clock, three hundred truth-workers under the Main Five, and its broadcast spire is visible from three counties. Media buys media — the ones who buy early buy best. The Tower's naming rights exist once, at $10,000 for the year. Once they are claimed, that page of history is written.
And everyone else
Trucking lines, banks, tool makers, soda bottlers, regional chains with more nerve than budget: the founder's rate card does not care how big you are. It cares when you arrived. The City Network Placement starts at $100 a month — 241 world-city pages carrying your name from Tokyo to Tulsa. File your inquiry at the advertising desk or claim your spot directly through the Skunk Store. First come, first carved in. — A.B.M., Counsel of the House
